"Apokalyps 1618" is Horn's 11th studio album and one of the most complex and versatile Horn outputs up to date, featuring lyrics in German, Swedish, Norwegian and English, 3 guest vocalists and an extravagant and multi-faceted cover art reminiscent of the works of Hieronymous Bosch. Stylistically, this full-length ranges from classic trademark tracks in the vein of "Turm am Hang" (Apokalyps 1618) via disharmonic Black Metal songs (Die Ahren gleich als mit dem Huf) to experimental tonal structures and unusual vocal styles (Barhout) and a balladesque cover version featuring guest vocals in the vein of Type O Negative and Ulver.
After "Turm am Hang" (2018), "Apokalyps 1618" circles back to the middle ages, blending various German folklore tales by the Brothers Grimm with historical events such as the third defenestration of Prague and the beginnings of the Thirty Years' war.
